Club Med plans to significantly increase its portfolio to hit 100 global resorts by 2035. The company currently operates 60 resorts worldwide. Jacinda Lowry, Associate Vice President of Sales for Canada at Club Med, said the goal is to reach 100 resorts in less than 10 years without neglecting the current portfolio.
The announcement was made at the Club Med Unpacked Roadshow event at Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan, where attendees learned about what’s new and what’s next for the company.
Expansion Plans
Club Med is investing in its existing properties, including Club Med Cancun, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The resort is undergoing major renovations, including the addition of a new infinity pool and a dedicated pickle ball centre.
According to Lowry, the renovations at Club Med Cancun have been underway since 2025 and will be completed by October 15. The resort will host an inaugural event from October 20-23 to showcase the new amenities to travel advisors and professionals.

They are also renovating other properties, such as Club Med Punta Cana, with redesigned spaces, new dining concepts, and expanded family amenities.
New Developments
Construction is set to begin on the new build Club Med Tremblant in October, with the property expected to open in December 2028. The resort will feature 300 rooms, including suites, deluxe, and superior rooms, and will operate as a four-season resort.
Club Med is also returning to the US market with a new resort in St. Croix, targeted to open in the fourth quarter of 2027. The resort will be part of the Exclusive Collection and will bring new life to the Carambola Beach Resort.
It is likely that Club Med’s growth will lead to more options for vacationers, particularly in underserved markets. As the company expands its portfolio, it may also lead to increased competition in the all-inclusive resort market, potentially driving innovation and improvements in services and amenities.

Other projects underway include Club Med Borneo in Malaysia, Club Med San Sicario in Italy, and Club Med Koh Samui in Thailand and Musandam in Oman, all of which are slated to launch in the next few years.
Recent Openings
Club Med recently opened its first location in South Africa, Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari. The company is also debuting an adults-only Zen Oasis at Club Med Buccaneer’s Creek in Martinique this fall, featuring 36 deluxe rooms and 20 sea-view suites.
With its expansion plans in place, Club Med is poised to become a major player in the global resort market.
